How to get a photo accepted
- Use a recent colour photo with a plain light or white background, face clearly visible, no cap or dark glasses.
- For the signature, sign on plain white paper with a black (or blue, if allowed) pen and photograph it in daylight.
- Crop so your face fills most of the photo frame. Use Zoom and Move to adjust.
- Check the green “Within KB” label before you download.

Questions
My photo is rejected as too small (under the minimum KB). What do I do?
Choose the correct exam and upload type here; the tool raises the quality and, if needed, pads the file so it reaches the minimum KB without changing the picture.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens inside your browser on your phone or computer. You can switch off mobile data after the page loads and it still works.
Does SSC still need a photo upload?
For 2026 forms, SSC captures your photo live with the webcam during the application, so you only upload the signature. Check your notification in case this changes.
What if my exam is not listed?
Choose Custom size and type the width, height and KB limits from your notification.
Can I use a photo from my phone camera?
Yes. Phone photos are large, so the tool shrinks them. iPhone HEIC photos may not open in some browsers; share or export them as JPG first.
