Tech interview preparation roadmap for freshers and campus placements
फ्रेशर्स और कैंपस प्लेसमेंट के लिए टेक इंटरव्यू तैयारी रोडमैप
What software companies test freshers on — aptitude, one programming language, data structures, CS fundamentals, SQL and projects — and a 6-week plan with free practice sets.
What the rounds usually test
Most service companies start with an online test: quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability and one or two coding problems. Product companies put more weight on data structures and problem solving. Technical interviews then check one language in depth, CS fundamentals (OS, DBMS, networks), SQL and the projects on your resume.
A 6-week plan
- Week 1: aptitude and reasoning daily (45 minutes); choose one language (Python, Java or JavaScript) and revise its basics.
- Week 2: arrays, strings and hashing; 3 coding problems a day.
- Week 3: stacks, queues, linked lists, recursion; SQL joins and GROUP BY.
- Week 4: trees, graphs (BFS/DFS), sorting and searching; complexity analysis.
- Week 5: OS, DBMS and networks fundamentals; one small project you can explain end to end.
- Week 6: timed mock tests, mock interviews with a friend, and resume polishing.

Resume and job search
- Keep it to one page: projects with what you built and the result, skills you can defend in an interview, education.
- Put your GitHub or a live project link at the top.
- Apply through company career pages and job sites the same week you finish a project — momentum matters.
